redrum - art journal challenge no 47

Päivää! Osallistun ensimmäistä kertaa SODAliciouksen Art Journal Challengeen, vuorossa on haaste nro 47. Haasteen aiheena on "taikausko" ja mullahan lähti mielikuvitus lentämään heti!

Good day! I participate to SODAlicious Art Journal Challenge, no 47, for the very first time. Theme is "superstition" and my imagination started to fly instantly!

Taikausko - aaveet - Hohto! Tuo klassikko kauhuelokuva tuli välittömästi mieleen ja siitä erityisesti tuo sana "redrum", toisinpäin "murder". Haluaisin katsoa kauhuelokuvia, mutta en enää uskalla. Onko se sitten iän tuomaa arkajalkaisuutta vai mitä, mutta enää en pysty niitä katsomaan. Viimeisimmät kauhut ovat jääneet mieleen useiksi kuukausiksi, joten oman mielenrauhan takaamiseksi päätin jättää kauhut muille.

Superstition - ghosts - The Shining! That classic horror movie came to my mind instantly and especially that word "redrum" which is "murder" backwards. I would love to watch horror movies, but I don't have the courage anymore. I don't know if it has something to with me getting older and fearful or what, but I can't watch them anymore. Last horror I saw sticked to my mind for months, so to preserve my peace of mind I leave that horror to others.

Hei taas! Meinasin ihan unohtaa tämän ja haastekin sulkeutuu kohta, onneksi huomasin :) Aloitin ensimmäisen art journal -kirjan ja tässä on nyt ensimmäinen valmis sivu. Otan tällä osaa MMP:n haasteeseen, jonka aiheena tällä kertaa sadness eli surumielisyys.

Hello again! I almost forgot about this and the challenge is about close, luckily I noticed :) I started my very first art journal and this is now the very first page. I take part to MMP challenge and this time you should express sadness.

Alkuperäinen tausta on tehty kotikutoisella gelliplatella ja lähdin siitä työstämään sivua. Sivussa käytin sekatekniikkaa ja paljon kerroksia.

Original background was made with home made gelliplate and I started to build my page on top of it. I used mixed media and lots of layers.

Tulen surulliseksi, kun ajattelen äitiäni. Hän ei ole enää täällä. Halusin sivuun kuitenkin toivoa ja sitä kuvastaa nuo violetin sävyt sekä perhoset.

I feel sadness when I think about my mother. She is not here anymore. I still wanted to have some hope in the page and for that I used those shades of violet and butterflies.

My Art - Mixed Media Place

Rohkeus, urheus, uskallus. Sitä on "courage" suomeksi. Mixed Media Placen tämän kuun haasteen tunne on rohkeus. Mie päätin uskaltaa aloittaa mun ensimmäisen "art journaling" -albumin.

Courage is this month's emotion in Mixed Media Place's challenge. I decided to be brave enough to start my first art journaling album.

Osallistuin viime kuussa Nathalie Kalbachin järjestämään Creative JumpStart 2014 online tapahtumaan jo toista kertaa. Mahtava tapa saada inspiraatiota kuukauden jokaisena päivänä! Päätin myös uskaltaa tai olla tarpeeksi rohkea kokeillakseni mun skräppäys-idolin tekniikkaa, aika rohkeaa sanoisin! Tämä albumin kansi on siis tehty huikean Finnabairin inspiraatiovideon innoittamana!

I joined for the second time to Nathalie Kalbach's Creative JumpStart 2014 online event. It's a great way to get inspiration every day of the month! I also decided to dare or to be brave enough to try this technique what my all time scrapbooking idol does, pretty brave I'd say! This album cover is truly inspired by a fantastic video shared by the awesome Finnabair!

Tämän tekemiseen meni monta iltaa syystä tai toisesta, ehkä mua vähän jännitti :)

I spent many nights working with this for a reason or another, but I think I was a little bit scared :)
